  • After the Directorate of Education announced December 15 as the date the nursery admissions should begin, the department announced the detailed schedule on Thursday, which the schools will have to follow for the pre-primary admissions for the 2010-11 session.

The Department also said that strong action will be taken against schools if they start the process in advance.

Selling of application forms will start from December 15, and the process closes on March 31, 2010, in the private recognised schools across the National Capital. The Delhi government has warned the schools to strictly comply with the schedule or face action.

The Education department, however, maintained that schools can deviate from the given schedule “depending on their specific circumstances but no deviation shall be permitted in respect of the dates of commencement and closure of the admissions process.”

“A school can deviate from the above schedule depending on their specific circumstances, but no deviation shall be permitted in respect of the dates of commencement and closure of admissions, i.e December 15, 2009 to March 31, 2010,” said the officials.

“All schools shall have uniform dates for commencement and closure of the admissions process.”

Schools will have to inform the Directorate about any proposed deviations from the schedule on or before November 15, 2009. “If schools deviate from the schedule given by us, action will be taken against them,” said a senior Education official. “Every school is bound by the schedule.”

The Directorate will have to be intimated about any deviation along with “reasonsfor the necessity of deviation.”
