  • Over 200 nurses, ward boys and sweepers of the civic-run Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital in Sion went on a flash strike on Wednesday morning demanding the payment for overtime work hours, time-bound promotions and filling of vacant posts. Additional Municipal Commissioner Manisha Mhaiskar said they would discuss the feasibility of payment for overtime work hours to ward boys and some other workers.

The class 3 and 4 workers’ union resumed their work after the civic health officials promised to advertise 4000 vacant posts and fill them in a month.
