Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest at the race course was a mixture of Dirndl dresses, sauerkrauts, bockwurst, beer and more importantly the horses. The idea of bringing the festival to the city for a fourth time in a row is constant––to bring about an awareness of the Bavarian culture and encourage the celebration of their most popular festival. "We've not made any change in the mascots since the first Oktoberfest held at the race course because we want the guests to associate them with the festival. Oktoberfest has spread like wildfire in the city, many restaurants are duplicating the concept nowdays, we want our guests to recognise ours with our mascots," says Tanaya Gupte, executive at DE Services, who has been instrumental in designing the members area of the race course in association with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. A number of women dressed in drindles, the traditional dress of Bavaria, welcomed the guests into the huge white and blue marquee. The line of food stalls inside offers a range of Bratwursts–– traditional sausages imported from Germany, as well as pretzels, rostisteak, kasespaetzle and more to compliment the dark craft beer which was imported from Germany. "I saw the advertisement for this event and got so excited that I brought all my friends along to the race course. I am so happy that I got a chance to wear my dirndl here. The beer is really good and pretzels remind me of home," says Anna Lutzenberger, a German national who has been in the city for the last six months.
