Old,disabled to get pension from April 1

The Punjab government has decided,in principle,to disburse pension to the old,widow,destitute women and disabled persons regularly from April 1. A decision was taken by the Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal on Monday as he directed the Finance department to clear the pension backlog of the last three months by June.

Badal also asked Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal to chalk out a comprehensive plan for disbursement of pension through banks to ensure timely and hassle-free payment to eligible beneficiaries in a transparent manner.
