Old teachers, batchmates reunite at ISTC alumni meet

With old principals, teachers, fellow batch-mates, seniors and juniors gathered together, nostalgia was all around the Indo-Swiss Training Center's (ISTCs) campus. A Grand Alumni meet was organised yesterday that saw an unexpected attendance even by those who are settled overseas. There were pet names being called out by the entrepreneurs and hugs.

Everyone was wearing a name tag with their roll numbers written on them. "It has a significance, like my roll number is 7866, it signifies that I got enrolled in the year 1978 and my class roll number was 66," said MK Aggarwal the present president of the Indo Swiss Training Center Old Students' Association (ISTCOSA).

Harpal Singh, 8356, the person who had built the 10-storey building in 48 hours said, "It is a great feeling going back to college again. I visited my hostel and my room which I stayed in. It is the same old place with a new look".

Teasing each other about their baldness and grey hair, some alumni of the '85 batch were talking amongst themselves. Jaideep, 8505, was asking his batchmates, "There was a spiral we had made during the 25 th anniversary celebrations. Is it still there?" The group of four located the spiral and said, "It's been so long, we organized the silver jubilee and we are now attending the Golden Jubilee celebrations".

For some, it was more of a father-son reunion. There were many persons who had passed out from the college and so had their sons. One such duo was of Jasbir Singh Bhogal 7756 and his son Magandeep Singh Bhogal who is presently studying in the institution. "What I am is because of what I have studied in this institution," said the father and his son said, "It feels good to be a part of the college where my father studied".
