Olivia Wilde will not play Lara Croft

The 'Tron: Legacy' star will not play Angelina Jolie's role in the forthcoming in 'Tomb Raider' reboot.

Actress Olivia Wilde,who was recently in talks to take over from Oscar winning actress Angelina Jolie as the new ‘Lara Croft’ will not play the title role in the forthcoming ‘Tomb Raider’ reboot.

According to her representative,the ‘Tron: Legacy’ star will not play the role previously essayed by Jolie in two critically panned films: ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’ and its sequel ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life’,Daily Star reported.

The 26-year-old actress has been widely tipped to play the action hero,which is being recognised by the Guinness World Records as the ‘most popular female video game’ character and has sold over 35 million units worldwide.

Wilde’s next comedy movie is ‘Butter’ opposite Hugh Jackman and she recently wrapped up filming ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig.
