NC PRESIDENT Omar Abdullah is contemplating to lodge a formal complaint with the Election Commission against the PDP for accusing him of having links with Malegaon blast accused Swamy Dayanad Pandey.
After serving legal notices on PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and senior leader Tariq Hamid Qarra seeking an apology for making derogatory remarks, Omar has decided to register a complaint with the Election Commission. "We have given them one week's time to tender an apology. Should they fail to do so, the next step would be to go to the Election Commission. But if they come out with an apology, things would be decided in that frame then," said Abdullah junior whose presence in the picture of a gathering attended by Pandey was shown by PDP leaders and interpreted as his having links with the Malegaon accused.
In the legal notice, Omar made it clear if the duo failed to apologise, he would file a suit for damages to the tune of Rs 1 crore.
