‘Omar should decide on course of action in pol payoff scam’

Delay in the probe into alleged political payoffs will cause to lose its 'purpose',says Cong leader Saiffudin Soz.

Asserting that delay in the probe into alleged political payoffs will lose its “purpose”,Congress leader Saiffudin Soz today said J-K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should take a decision on how to move forward in the case so that the truth comes out.

“I think the chief minister should think about it how to go on (in the probe over the issue) and so that truth would be known to the people,” Soz told reporters here.

He was replying to the question about the allegation of ‘cash for post’ scam in the National Conference,the suspected custodial death of NC worker Haji Yousuf,delay in the probe and Congress’s silence over it.

“Some times political parties do not react. Their reaction are subdued. But Congress party supports truth,” he said.

“If there is a judicial inquiry (into the allegations) and the Supreme Court is not in agreement over any sitting judge or a visiting judge of the panel. This inquiry will lose sheen…will lose its purpose,” Soz said.

When asked whether probe was being delayed to allow Omar to buy more time,the PCC chief said this question was upto the Chief Minister to answer.

In reply to the question on rotational chief ministership in the state,Soz said it is an issue to be decided by the Congress high command.
