Gayatri Devi is the third wife of Sawai Man Singh II. His other two wives were sisters, Marudhar and Kishore, both from the Jodhpur royal family. Prithviraj is one of the two sons from his second wife, Kishore.

Bhawani Singh, who has for many years been fighting legal battles with his aunt Gayatri Devi, is the son of Marudhar, the first wife of Sawai Man Singh II.

It is learnt that the Jagat Singh had over 90 per cent shares in Jai Mahal, but the shares were transferred to Prithviraj Singh, with Gayatri Devi owning less than 5 per cent stake.

Gayatri Devi currently owns Moti Dongri Fort, Lillypool Palace (her current residence), and an apartment in London.

Apart from this, she has huge investments in Rothschild Trust, which according to sources, has global interests in wealth management.

Jai Mahal Palace was originally given to Jagat Singh, while Bhawani Singh owns the Raj Mahal hotel and the city complex in Jaipur. Jai Singh, Prithviraj’s brother, has interests in power projects in Barmer, Rajasthan.
