On Nikhil Gadkari reception platter: orange barfi,jalebis

All roads led to Nagpur on Friday as politicians,industrialists,film stars and bureaucrats took a break from their busy schedules to attend the wedding reception of BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s son Nikhil and Rutuja Pathak. It was a mega-event for Nagpur,which witnessed a series of chartered planes landing with VVIP guests,more than a dozen of them with ‘Z’ category security.

The dinner was purely vegetarian,with orange barfi and orange juice as starters and orange city and ice cream,fruits and jalebis as dessert. The décor was white,with thousands of white roses and orchids welcoming the guests while a soft instrumental music played in the background.

The guests included L K Advani,Rajnath Singh,Narendra Modi,Vasundhararaje Scindia,B S Yeddyurappa,Ravi Shankar Prasad,Najma Heptullah,Rajiv Pratap Rudy,Ram Naik,Ashok Singhal,Arun Jaitley,Amar Singh and Jaya Prada. They also included political adversaries such as Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray,who had both come with their wives. CM Prithviraj Chavan and all Maharashtra ministers also graced the event.
