One held for ‘molesting’ Russian tourist

    The Goa Police have arrested one person for allegedly outraging the modesty of a 27-year-old Russian tourist here, police said.

    The person arrested has been identified as Agnelo Noronha (32), who owns a beach shack at Utorda beach in South Goa. He was arrested after a complaint by the Russian tourist. She said Noronha stopped his jeep on the road and tried to drag her into it.

    Police have registered a case under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage modesty) of the IPC against the accused, who has been granted bail by a local court.
