A day after STF caught a fake pathology laboratory operational in Lucknow near SGPGI, teams from the Health department conducted raids in Rae Bareli road near SGPGI.
Following the raid, while one Jeevan Jyoti pathology laboratory was sealed, seven other pathologies and diagnostic centres in the area were served with notices.
Dr PK Singh, Deputy CMO said: “ Jeevan Jyoti pathology was open when we reached Rae Bareli road. But as soon as the word circulated, those sitting in the laboratory fled from the spot. Thus, we were forced to seal the lab and paste a notice outside.”
Of the eight laboratories that were checked, four were open and the rest closed.
“Notice has been issued to each of these laboratories. These pathologies and diagnostic centres have been asked to submit their records with the CMO office —from where they have obtained the permission and the registration,” said Singh.
A letter was also issued to Dr VP Singh, a retired government doctor, whose name had figured in the STF raid on Saturday. The team had found letterhead bearing Dr VP Singh’s name to issue fake pathology reports. A Health department official informed that the letter has been issued asking him about all the pathologies which he was visiting so that it can be verified.
