Online filing of Form F mandatory from Oct 2

This is yet another means to check declining child sex ratio,he said.

While filling Form F online will be mandatory,health officials said it will also help in tracking pregnant women during ante-natal care period. Chief medical officer,PMC,Dr R R Pardeshi said tenders will be called for preparing a new software to link 600 private maternity homes and around 25-30 major hospitals. We can check the status of the ANC women – their registrations,immunization and other details.

In Pimpri Chinchwad,chief medical officer Dr R Iyer said each pregnant women is being tracked and the expected date of delivery is also listed. A total of 21 out patient dispensaries and eight corporation hospitals will be linked for the purpose.

Form F that provides details of medical history of a pregnant women will also be helpful in tracking their development. Training on the software to be uploaded and used by radiologists is now under way with the help of the local Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PC-PNDT) Act Cell,said local appropriate authority with the PMC Dr Vaishali Jadhav. A digital code will be given after loading the government software,she said.

Indian Radiological and Imaging Association,Pune branch,president Dr Meenakshi Gajbhiye said they were waiting for the software from the municipal corporation to fill the form online. Workshops and seminars are being held to create awareness about the PC-PNDT Act and undergraduate and postgraduate students are being urged to take an oath that they will not indulge in sex determination.

According to Gupta,311 songography centres have been sealed out of 7,839 centres in the state. While measures like launching a helpline and website to deal with citizens’ complaints on sex determination by doctors have not met with an enthusiastic response,officials said they had dealt with 41 complaints so far.
