Orissa should adopt a scheme to finance professional and technical education to students belonging to scheduled castes,scheduled tribes and other backward class in private institutions,said Justice A K Patnaik here today.
Justice Patnaik said this while delivering the students at the first convocation of Sikshya ‘O’ Anusandhan University here. “The students who have merit but cannot afford the high fees of professinal and techinical education should be given opportunities by the state government,” Justice Patnaik said adding that Andhra Pradesh had made a scheme to support access to quality eucation to thousands of poor students belonging to ST,SC and OBC in selcted private corporate colleges.
“Under the scheme,the annual fees of the students are reimbursed by the government directly to the private professional and educational institutions,” he pointed out.
