  • On the day Manu Sharma returned to Tihar Jail amid allegations that he spent time with a friend at a bar in New Delhi when parole required him to be in Chandigarh, Delhi Police confirmed that it was Pranay Dadwal, son of Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal, who called the police early last Saturday, seeking action against the duo for allegedly misbehaving with people present at the bar.

Sharma is serving a life term for the murder of model Jessica Lal.

Delhi Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat told The Indian Express: “Manu Sharma and (friend) Sahil Dhingra and his four security guards misbehaved in F-Bar with people including CP’s son who informed the police to take necessary action.”

The F-Bar is located in Hotel Ashok. By the time policemen reached the F-Bar, Sharma and Dhingra had moved to the LAP lounge bar, co-owned by actor Arjun Rampal, in the adjoining Hotel Samrat. The police then went there. Sharma had left while Dhingra was held by police.

Police claimed Dhingra, who landed at the F-Bar around 2.30 am Saturday, misbehaved with security officials there. It is alleged that Dhingra also misbehaved with Pranay Dadwal who was present there.

After Pranay Dadwal made a phone call, policemen and the ACP and SHO of Chanakyapuri turned up at the F-Bar. By then, Dhingra and Sharma were in LAP. Police sources claimed Dhingra had an argument with the F-Bar security detail when his private guards were stopped.

Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner has asked the Crime Branch to look into allegations made by businessman Samir Thapar who was held along with Dhingra. Thapar said he did not know Manu Sharma but had “heard about some argument with some top police officer’s son in F-Bar”.

Will the COP get a sack.By: Rao V | 11-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward The Police Commissioner of Delhi may get a sack because his son's complaint inadvertently has exposed Sheila Dixit and caused much embarrassment to the Congress Party. This woman is surviving politically only due to her surname denoting a priveleged caste which is much liked by the Indian Mediawalas. But anyway, with the Commonwealth Games round the corner we have to ensure that convicted felons with killer background are not around in Delhi posing serious Security threat to the citizens as well as the visitors.Better the Chief Minister is replaced by a competent and clean person from the Congress Party.
