At present there are about 97,000 Indian students in Australia.

“An Australian delegation is coming here to explain to us about the measures they have taken to ensure safety and security of the Indian students,” Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi said in an interview.

Apart from meeting government officials in New Delhi, the high-level delegation will also visit various states, such as Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala, to apprise them of the steps taken by the Australian authorities to contain attacks on Indian students, the minister said.
