A fighter jet of the Pakistan Air Force flown by a woman pilot crashed during a routine training flight in Punjab province though there were no reports of casualties or damage to property on the ground.
The Chinese-made F-7 jet crashed at Kalur Kot Khakkar near Mianwali due to a technical malfunction,PAF said.
The woman pilot,Flying Officer Nida, ejected safely.
The aircraft was on a ‘routine operational training mission.’ No loss of civilian life or property was reported.
The Air Headquarters ordered a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The F-7,which is based on the Russian MiG-21 design of the 1960s,forms the backbone of the PAF.
