Hillary Clinton has said that her recent Pak visit was to clear the air.

Describing her recent visit to Islamabad as the one aimed at clearing the air, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said Pakistanis had a “sort of pent- up frustration” with the US over its policy in the region, including on the war on terror, which she tried to address.

“The whole purpose of my trip was to try to clear the air with the Pakistani people and government, to reassert our support for Pakistan, particularly in this very difficult conflict they’re engaged in with the Taliban, and to listen and absorb all the criticisms they have,” Clinton, who was in Egypt on Wednesday, told the popular National Public Radio in an interview from Cairo.

“They had this sort of pent-up frustration with the United States. And as you know and as you saw, I listened ...

and tried to convey understanding of all of their questions about our policy, going back years,” she said.

At the same time, she said, she wanted to stress that the US was looking for a partnership and that they have to listen to American concerns as well.

“I feel strongly that as we move forward in these very complex areas that pose real concerns to our national security, concerns to partners like Pakistan’s security, that it is important to make clear to the people - not just the leaders - that we have to speak openly with each other,” Clinton said.

Clinton, however, said she got an “overwhelmingly positive” reaction in Pakistan.

“I’ve been reading a lot of the blogging and the reaction on the press - in part because they’re not used to anyone from the United States Government coming and opening herself to their concerns.

    ... contd.

BusinessBy: Virumal | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward I could not able to understand what kind of air she was clearing in pakistan.Whole world knows pakistan is terrorist and failed state.Their government has proliferated nuclear know how to North korea,Libiya and Iran .They are the one who created Taliban and Al Quida. Most of terrorisit act has started from pakistan.Even UK prime minister has said 70% such acts in his country are pakistan linked. I think both parties in USA are unperdictable they still support this terrorist country who has created lot of problems in the world particulerly to India. Is there any sense in supporting pakistan whose whole history has been suspicious in terrorisim. It was USA and UK who ignored when Pakistan was making nuclear bombs and now crying foul for Iran not to make it.Now this Pakistani genie is out of control, still America will do nothing because Pakistan is their treasure.West want India and pakistan remains loggerhead all the time.If they want they could still solve all these problems.

Paki stenchBy: Hero Vaz | 05-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward The stench in the Pak air can never be cleared so long unscrupulous farters, in the Govt. and in the army, run the country. Clinton thinks she has done a great job, which is a clear indication that she knows nothing about the Pakis. It won't be long before gullible Clinton and her fellow Americans get a whiff of the foul air from Pakistan in the form of betrayals and back-stabbings. When that happens, will Clinton go again to Pak to clear the foul air? She will find the stench too strong for her to even get out of the plane. Such is what Pak has degenerated into.
