  • The Border Security Force on Sunday apprehended a Pakistani national from the Vighakhot border in Kutch for trying to sneak into India, the BSF said here on Monday.

The arrested Pakistani national has been taken to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Bhuj where he is being interrogated by various security agencies, including the state police.

The Pakistani national’s arrest comes just two days after a warning by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to Pakistan that any further terror attack from that country will be retaliated “very strongly”, and intelligence inputs of another possible 26/11 type Mumbai attack.

Earlier on Friday, the BSF had found a Pakistani boat abandoned near the Sir Creek area.

On August 16, the BSF had apprehended nine Pakistani nationals along with their boat from the creek area.

This was followed by the arrest of five Pakistani fishermen from the Devri creek area on October 5.

Elsewhere, the BSF has arrested a mentally-challenged Indian resident for attempting to cross over to Pakistan from Kutch.
