Panchkula is paying because the Congress in a divided house, senior BJP leader Gyan Chand Gupta said while addressing the media in Sector 5 on Friday. Gupta said it was unfortunate that the MLA of Panchkula, who was from the ruling party, was not aware of the fact that the Haryana government had decided to form the Municipal Corporation.

“Panchkula MLA D K Bansal had admitted during a recent press conference that he was not consulted by the Haryana government before the formation of the Municipal Corporation. This itself is a clear indication of a divided house of Congress. Not only this, with nearly six months having passed since the elections took place,no developmental project has been taken up by the new MLA till date,” said Gupta.

He said despite several reports about the increasing cases of suspected cholera in the district, the administration has taken no steps to contain it. “Water samples have been found infected and the administration is sleeping over the issue. Instead, the authorities should collect samples from various sectors daily and keep a strict check on the situation,” he said.

Gupta also demanded a solution to the problem of flies, bus stand, stadium and a fire station for Barwala. “As many as a lakh residents of Haryana,of which nearly 20,000 are residents of Panchkula, will join the BJP rally against inflation on April 21 in Delhi,” he added.
