  • A bomb scare at the Larsen and Toubro Infotech Company on Saki Vihar Road forced over 2,000 employees to vacate the building causing panic among them. However, the call turned out to be a hoax after the police searched the premises thoroughly.

“At 2.05 pm on Tuesday, the head of administration of the company received a call on his landline from an unidentified caller informing him about a bomb in the building. The caller said that he learnt from Tata Indicom that a bomb has been placed in the building. We reached the spot around 3.40 pm. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad was called in and all the employees were told to vacate the offices,” said Senior Police Inspector Rajdoot Rupwate from Powai police station.

The search lasted over three hours after which the building was declared safe.“We were not able to trace the call since it lasted for a few seconds. We will seek records from the telephone companies to trace the caller,” Rupwate added.
