Jalandhar Commissionerate Police here have found that the family of terrorist Paramjit Singh Panjwar of Khalistan Commando Force,who is in Indias most wanted list,managed to get passports issued on fake declarations.
Police found that passports of Panjwars wife and two sons were issued in 2008 and these were sent to them in Germany where they were living. Police has arrested one Paramjit Singh,who is working as a Junior Engineer in a government department and who had helped the family to get issued their passports by using his name and address.
ADCP (HQ) Satinder Singh revealed that they had received a tip-off that Panjwars wife Paljit Kaur and their two sons Shahbaaz Singh and Manvir Singh had been issued passports on false information,and after investigation this was found to be true.
He said that Panjwars wife Paljit Kaur mentioned the name of her husband Parmjit Singh of Maluwal Kalan,under police station Jhabaal,district Taran Taran in place of Paramjit Singh of village Panjwar. Also,in the passports of their two sons Paramjit Singh of Malluwal Kalan was mentioned as their father. The ADCP further informed that Paramjit Singh of Malluwal Kalan is a junior Engineer in PWD and he helped the family of the terrorist. These passports were then sent to Panjwars family in Germany where they were already living. In this case Panjwar,his wife,their two sons,his brother Sarabjit Singh,Malluwal Kalan numberdar Sulkhan Singh have also been booked.
ADCP said that role of the cops who would have verified the details required for making passports during police enquiry would also be investigated. A case has been registered under sections 419/ 420/ 465/ 467/ 468/ 471/ 120-B IPC 12 of Passport Act in Police Station Navi Baradari,Jalandhar.
