Parents,students confused about Class XI admission criteria

I was under an impression that the grade system would be implemented only in the academic session 2011-12. My daughter scored 7.4 CGPA and wants to pursue BCom but I am not sure about the procedure schools are following to admit students. We do not know whether grade points will be considered or percentages would be considered.

I feel everybody is happy with the result. Children are satisfied with the introduction of the grading system in Class X boards. With the introduction of this system,parents and students will not be comparing one’s marks with the other. For admission to Class XI,each school would be following its own procedure. In our school,admission would be based on grade points. In case of any confusion,we will be considering secured grades in a particular subject but percentage secured in pre-boards would not be considered.

There is lot confusion about admission. I want to take up commerce next year; however,I am not clear how schools will distinguish between students with the same CGPA score. They might take students on first-come-first-serve basis,which would cause a lot of harassment,as we will keep shuttling between schools.

My daughter cleared her boards but I do not know how to get her admitted in Class XI. The schools are not really sure about the criterion they would be following for admissions in Class XI and say that the same would be finalised next week only.
