With the Haryana Assembly elections around the corner, parties in the fray are gearing up to keep electorate well informed.
While the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is all set to launch its website providing detailed information about their candidate Gyan Chand Gupta, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today opened its office in Sector 10 here and plans to hire a public relations agency for its publicity work.
“The aim behind launching the website is to help the public know their candidate. The website — www.gyanchandgupta.com—— would have my complete biodata from the time when I was a Mayor in Chandigarh to my experience in the field of politics. It would also contain the manifesto of the party along with a number of photographs,” said Gyan Chand Gupta, the BJP candidate from Panchkula constituency. He also added that while the meetings of the party workers is being held on a daily basis, the process of door-to-door campaigning would begin from Friday. “While several PR agencies contacted us, we would rather prefer our own party worker for the purpose,” added Gupta.
Gupta said, “The emphasis during the campaigning would be on trying to meet a large number of residents of the constituency. It is for this that we have divided the entire Panchkula into 12 zones with a number of sub divisions.”
Yograj Singh, INLD candidate from Panchkula, said, “Like in every cricket match, I would not be able to disclose my strategy.” Another worker of the INLD, requesting anonymity, said, “Yograj is expected to come on October 6 for campaigning in Panchkula. Also we are all set to appoint a professional agency for the publicity campaign of the INLD. Not only this, there are several other surprises in store for the residents of Panchkula.”
