
Buoyed by three-wicket hauls by Kamal Passi and Vinay Chaudhary, hosts Amritsar scored an eight-wicket win over Ropar in a match in the Punjab Inter District U-19 Cricket Tournament for Dhruve Pandove Trophy played on Thursday. After posting a total of 185 in their first innings, Amritsar restricted Ropar to 113 in their second innings before making 78 for the loss of two wickets to win the match.
Resuming their first innings on Thursday, Amritsar ended the innings at 185 in 79.3 overs. Aman Bawa was the main scorer for Amritsar playing a knock of 58 as he smashed five boundaries. Mohit handa and Jagdip Singh were the other main contributors as they scored 40 and 26 runs each. For Ropar, Arjun was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed six wickets for 53 runs. Ropar were bundled out for 113 runs in 38.2 overs, thereby setting Amritsar a target of 78 runs. Kamal Passi claimed three wickets for two runs while Vinay claimed three wickets for 45 runs. Amritsar reached the target for the loss of two wickets. Aman Bawa scored 33 runs while Sunny Sandhu played a knock of 24 runs.
