  • Almost a year after he resigned as Union home minister in the wake of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Shivraj Patil may be still waiting for rehabilitation, but he is reportedly not inclined to accept a gubernatorial assignment or an organisational responsibility in the party. According to his close associates, Patil had never taken up any organisational post in the Congress, except a brief tenure in the AICC media cell. While there are reports of the party high command considering him for a governor’s post, his aides say he has not been approached with any such offer and was not interested in it. Apparently, Patil is still holding out hope for a return to the Cabinet.
