Pay a little more,get LPG at your own convenience

By paying a very nominal extra amount,customers can now avail of LPG cylinders at their own convenience. This is a customer-friendly initiative taken by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to ensure easy and comfortable availability of gas cylinders under a scheme called “preferred time delivery”.

“This is done keeping in mind the family requirements in which both husband and wife are working and one of them has to stay back for the cylinder delivery,” said IOCL Manager (Corporate Communications)-Eastern Region Aloke Kumar Singh,.

Customers will have to register themselves and specify their preferred timings to the distributor.The registration will be valid for six months. The extra amount payable would vary between Rs. 25 and Rs 50,depending on the timings,and is different for metropolitan residents and those living elsewhere.

The use of domestic gas cylinders by small roadside eateries and dhabas is illegal while the 19 kg cylinder is unaffordable for many. This prompted Indian Oil to introduce a 5 kg LPG cylinder.
