  • Muthalik
Home ministry is closely watching the activities of Pramod Mutalik-led Sri Ram Sene very closely.

Terming the Sri Ram Sene as a 'threat' to the country, Home Minister P Chidambaram on Monday said the Centre was watching its activities and expected the Karnataka government to take firm action against the outfit, accused of being involved in the Mangalore pub attack.

"Sri Ram Sene is a threat to the country. The Centre is watching its activities with great concern", the minister told reporters.

Condemning the activities of the outfit, he said "no organisation can become a self-styled police force. That cannot be allowed. Sene had already crossed limits. They cannot say what one should wear, one should eat or to where one should go," he said.

Asked if the Centre could impose ban on the outfit, he said "let us see what Karnataka Government is doing. We expect Chief Minister Yeddiyurappa to take firm action against them as promised", he said.

Members of the Sene were allegedly involved in the attack on women at a pub in Mangalore on January 24 which sparked a national outrage.

NO OBJECTION IF GOVT DECIDES TO BAN SRI RAM SENE: RSS

Disassociating with Sri Ram Sene, whose acts of moral policing in Mangalore evoked nationwide indignation, the RSS today called for stringent action against Sene and said it had no objection if the government decided to ban the outfit.

"RSS considers attacks on humans as heinous crime. We do not have any objection, if the government decides to ban Sri Ram Sene," RSS South-Central Zonal Secretary K Narahari told a press conference in Bangalore.

Here is an IdeaBy: Village Boy | 14-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward I think we round up the cows( the daughters ans sisters) of sanghis and sena members and take them to some good pub with nude dancers, to make them conform our Indian culture as depicted in Khujrraon, Ajanta and Ellora. I think it will get the point across through the thick skulls of sanghis.
Stop hooliganism in the name of culture/religionBy: Sidharth | 13-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward Sir,Using the word moral cops for these SANGH PARIVAR sponsered rightwing hooligans are an insult to our constitutional law. These goons are behaving like extra-constitutional authority through out the country making mockery of the provisions of rules of law. The media unfortunately takes a biased view in not reporting the open link they have with the hydra-headed monster RSS whose divisive agenda have already led the nation to pay heavy price in shape of home grown terrorism. The self styled "moral cops" of this type should be declared as "terrorist" and dealt with heavy hand by the state power, otherwise India would become ungovernable one day due to these fascist forces.Regards.
Pink UndiesBy: Dr. Ashwin Sood | 12-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward Its wa scompletely wrong on the part of any so called 'sena' to manhandle girls and if they are really worried about Indian cultural values they should learn ' sheel and karuna' from the life of Ram. It was equally cheap from the 'so called ' women and girl saviours to think of 'taking off' their undies to send.Thay can do it in India and to the Hindu organisation.I suggest them to send their 'pink Undies' to the Talibans and their supporter and to all the corrupt politicians who are palying with the 'honour of mother India' By gaining cheap publicity they all prove their intellectual level.
pink undiesBy: undie girl | 29-Sep-2009 Reply | Forward Thank you for comparing the sena and fundamentalist hindus to the Taliban. It was very apt. They are no different.
Rama Sene - Muthalik By: SIVASUBRAHMANIAM | 12-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward RSS does not support and nobody wants this type of Hippocrates like Muthalik and his associates. The why the governments are not winding up Muthalik and a hundreds of his associates and put them inside. Is it not possible with out Pota? First of all create a fear that these types of people will be put in dark, so that no other guys do such mockeries, that to against women. What ever may be the reason, this type of ransom Moral Policing should not be tolerated. If they are interested let them start any counseling campaign and try to change the attitude as they like if public like them. Whether or not BJP and its associates are responsible for these acts, their venom like propaganda of Hindutva is the main reason tofor the raise and growth of such organisation. BJP has brought the division of the society on the religious lines. FIRST OF ALL PUT ALL THES GUYS BEHID THE BARS TILL THE VALENTAIN DAY. AND THEN THINK OF IT.
