Tired of the endless clicking & desktop clutter? Fret not, for Microsoft's set to roll out a whole new range of ‘make-your-life-easy’ softwares
More than necessity, convenience is the new mother of all inventions. "And that's exactly what we're aiming at, easy applications," says Rajiv Popli, Director - Windows Client Consumer & Online Business, Microsoft, as he takes seat at Hotel Taj to unveil a line-up of softwares that promise comfortable hours on the computer. "Number of clicks required to reach a link for starters has been reduced, the risk has been minimized, the search engine's become more descriptive, it helps save power and it's become convenient to shuttle between windows," Popli moves to demonstrate Microsoft's three new softwares -- Bing, Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8, with a brief mention of over 10,000 people, who've worked for over three years and the 4000 IT organisations who have assisted in defining the features to be installed.
With Windows 7 to be launched on October 22 this year, and a tagline that says, "It works the way I want", the software is basically being designed on three basic principals. "To simplify, to make new things possible and bring in an increased GB," Popli says since more GB means more files, and more files means more time required to search a file, an improved search system has also been installed that not only highlights the file name searched but also lists the key elements of the file. With facilities like 'Home Group' that allows two PCs in a given radius to communicate and to transfer data with just a password, touch screen, increased security and snap tool, its compatibility with hi-tech gadgets sets it apart. "The drivers of devices like phone, camera, printers and fax machines are pre-loaded and so, it's easier and less time consuming to connect them," Popli points out.
