PCI polls: Most office-bearers elected

  • Most of the office-bearers retained their positions in the Press Club of India elections results of which were announced on Monday. Pushpendra Kulshrestha retained his secretary-general position in a close contest that saw him win against Nadeem Ahmad Kazmi by 77 votes. His panel won four of the five office-bearer seats on offer in addition to eight of the 17 executive committee positions. Votes polled for president had to be counted again after Parvez Ahmed of the official panel won by a single vote after the first count. A recount gave him a conclusive lead of eight votes over Arun Kumar Kesari.
