Shendre says he is not afraid of anybody, has done nothing wrong
“I am not afraid of anybody...I have done nothing wrong,” said Kalidas Anil Shendre, the clerk who ‘transferred’ six employees of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and was charged with forgery and suspended from civic services for the offence.
The clerk, working in the civic works department of PCMC's 'A' division office almost effected the reshuffling of six employees, including himself, by issuing a transfer order in the name of the municipal commissioner. What apparently saved PCMC from a major embarassment was the e-governance system that was put in place during the Dilip Band regime a few years back. The e-governance helped civic officials detect the con job.
Kalidas Anil Shendre, who was on probation with the PCMC, has been suspended from the civic services and a departmental inqury has been ordered against him. Following a police complaint lodged by the civic administration, the police have slapped forgery charges on him. Till Friday evening he was not arrested. Police sources said he would be arrested any moment.
On Friday afternoon, Shendre sprung a surprise in the ‘A’ divisional office after he sauntered in with a transfer order of five of his colleagues. The transfer order, bearing 'signatures' of Municipal Commissioner Asheesh Sharma and administrative officer Balasaheb Pawar, also 'informed' Shendre that he had been transferred to 'C' divisional office of the PCMC. After Shendre showed the copy of the orders to the concerned employees, they immediately contacted assistant municipal commissioner Sudhakar Deshmukh (administration) who denied any knowledge of seeing any such transfer order.
