PCR vehicles inspected, most beacons need repair

The UT Police on Thursday inspected all the Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles. In sets of 10, all the vehicles were brought to the parking lot of the Children's Traffic park, Sector 23, and were checked by PCR officials.

Inspector Satpal, who was checking the vehicles, said, "We are conducting the inspection to check if the vehicles have their basic equipments in place and in tact".

Another inspector on duty said that one of major issues faced by the PCR vehicles was with regard to its beacons. To repair the beacons, the UT Police will have to call the technicians concerned from Delhi.

Other problems reported by the PCR staff were non-functional torches, used bed sheets and blankets, and water storage facilities.

An official said, "The items that were available at the time of inspection were provided. The PCR staff have been told to go to the workshop to get new equipments.
