LK Advani said that the people of India will never forgive the UPA Govt for arresting and torturing the Sadhvi.
BJP leader L K Advani launched a scathing attack against the UPA govt on the ‘authenticity’ of the Malegaon blast probe during a poll-meeting in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh.

Advani said, "Sadhvi Pragya Singh was arrested on the basis of a motorcycle that was used in the Malegaon blast and subsequently she was kept in the police custody for 16 days in illegal detention. Also, ATS had made a ridiculous disclosure by claiming that the sadhvi and her associates were planning to kill some RSS leaders."

"ATS was making information public and this was being used for political advantage by the Congress which is in power at the Centre," he said.

"I have raised the issue with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh which is related to the affidavit of sadhvi in which she has made very serious allegations against ATS", the BJP leader said.

"The people of India will never forgive the UPA Govt for arresting and torturing Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Advani said.

The comments came just a day after the National Security Advisor spoke to Advani to explain him the details of the ATS investigation in the Malegaon blast.

Advani also appealed voters to "reward" the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections in the state and "punish" the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre in the Lok Sabha polls next year.

"I consider the public of this state to be lucky since it will get an opportunity both for rewarding and punishing governments," Advani said at his maiden election meeting for the November 27 assembly polls in the state.

The people of Madhya Pradesh should reward the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for its excellent work in the assembly elections and punish the Congress-led UPA government in the Lok Sabha polls to be held about six months later, he said.

Advani said he was of the view that the BJP government in MP would not suffer from any anti-incumbency factor.

During the previous assembly elections in Gujarat, the Congress thought that Narendra Modi would be defeated due to the anti-incumbency factor but that did not happen and Modi emerged victorious, he said.

The BJP leader said that in MP there could be some resentment against the party legislators but all that had been taken care of.

He said that there was great strength in democracy and expressed happiness at the fact that the voting percentage was increasing gradually.

My Country INDIABy: Abdul Nazar.K.M | 25-Nov-2008 Reply | Forward Our Country has lot of social problems of inequality of oppertunities and ever widening gap between haves and have nots eventhough We are at a thresh hold of a big leap as Economic powers of future world order. So many things has to be done to narrow the gap of economic inequalities and social upliftment of the common man.Why being a responsible national party BJP never stand in the forefront to achieve those goals instead promoting the negetive attitudes and destructive forces pretending to be secular. What INDIA demands from responsible citizen and party is not to promote any kind of devisive forces but to make HER stand ERECT before the world as a model of Unity in Diversity. Advani's double standardsBy: Jayakar | 24-Nov-2008 Reply | Forward Advani is going back to his old hindu fanatism. Will people forgive the rape of a nun at Orissa. Advani and Rajnat Singh were all out to defend the Sangh Parivar. Here we have a Sadhvi who is a prime suspect in a blast case. What answer has Advani for the innocent victims who lost their lives and their families. Why cant the BJP distance itself from a terror suspect ? It will do good for India if relgious fantatics like Advani and Rajnat Singh are kept out of politics.BJP is now like a snake without venom. It cannot accuse the ruling party of soft pedaling on terrorism when its own associates are accused of terror. And its not a secret that not all everyone within the BJP are ready to accept the leadership of Advani. Advani himself stands as an accused in the Barbri Masjid demolition case.Let Advani and BJP do a serious introspection and answer their own conscience before attempting to save terror suspects.
Religion PoliticsBy: Shahid | 24-Nov-2008 Reply | Forward Indians are a big joint family of different religions, castes, sects who are esiding in a house called India. The house will be peaceful and in tranquil only when all members take care of each other shunning prejudice against each other. Lust for political power through religion politics is leading the whole house to destruction.
