Its nearly a week since the release of Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year ,but Gauhar Khan is ecstatic about her debut film. After the preview,I wanted to ask Mr Yash Chopra what he thought about my role but was too afraid to go up to him. After he himself came up to me I almost fainted, gushes Khan.

While it definitely looks like she was made for the part,it took director Shimit Amin a long time to find her. One day,I got a call from YashRaj Films asking if I would like to audition. I went and found myself competing against 200 girls. After that

I went through five more levels of auditions,till I was finally selected, says the 26-year-old.

Most girls would kill for a role in a film that stars Bollywoods current hottest property,Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir is such a nice person and I was taken aback at how grounded he was. While I wasnt acting romantically opposite him,we had a close bond in the film and most of my scenes were with him, says Khan.

Rumours about her cold vibes with co-actor Shazahn Padamsee have been doing the rounds,but Khan clears the air. We met just once for a scene. People kept asking me if Im the lead or her,I just kept quiet and told them to wait for the film. To me,the lead doesnt mean being romantically paired with the hero,it means being an integral part of the entire plot. So Ill just leave it for the audience to decide who the lead is, she asserts.

Film offers have been coming in,but Khan says she hasnt signed anything yet. Im glad that my first film was a performance-oriented role and not just about looking pretty. But Im also hoping that I can do the running around the trees with the Khans and Hrithik Roshan, she giggles.
