Petitions against Saeed release rejected

  • The Pakistani Supreme Court on Thursday rejected on technical grounds two petitions by the Federal and Punjab governments challenging the release of Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, a key accused in the Mumbai attacks, from house arrest. The petitions were submitted on Saturday though the office of the Supreme Court registrar.
