Bose Krishnamachari’s Gallery BMB hosted an evening of high art on Tuesday to inaugurate a new exhibition,Docu Tour. The month-long exhibition presents the work of four prominent photographers,who have used photographic documentation to critique socio-political structures,cultural practices and institutions. If you think that is quite a mouthful,we suggest you just go to the gallery and enjoy the works of the artists,who include Gauri Gill,Anup Matthew Thomas,Shankar Natarajan and Vivek Vilasini. The four participating artists were present at the event along with curator Bose and director of the gallery,Devaunshi Mehta and personalities from Mumbai’s art and culture scene — Laxman Srestha,Chintan Upadhyay,Sudarshan Shetty,Julius Macwan and Brinda Miller. Also present were other prominent Mumbaikars like Alex Kuruvilla,Remo and Naaz Jhaveri,Sarayu Doshi,Vikram Bawa,Abhay Maskara and Parvez Damania.
