The petitioners have sought directions to the authorities to not ban plying of those commercial transport vehicles which use diesel as fuel within the municipal limits of Patiala.

“Steps should be taken for supply of CNG to Patiala and to create the necessary infrastructure for distribution. The authorities should not allow entry of goods vehicles except with special permission and that too only during 10 pm to 6 am for purpose of loading,” the petition reads.

The petitioners have further demanded that the authorities cancel permits of those stage and contract carriages which use diesel as fuel and are more than ten years old.
