The recommended thali at Maratha Samrat would undoubtedly be the Special Mutton Thali,which comprises of Kheema Fry,Egg Masala,Mutton Biryani,Tambda and Pandhra Rassa,Chapattis,Mutton Pickle,Mutton cooked in a dark brown sauce and Fried Fish. Amongst other notable thalis that are on the offering here is the Fish Thali (comprising of a variety of fishes ranging from Prawns to Bangda) and is also highly recommended. MH-09,Baner RoadThis authentic Kolhapur cuisine restaurant offers four different varieties of thalis-two in chicken and two in mutton. The chicken thali comprises of Chicken Masala or Chicken Fry in white or red gravy made out of chicken stock. It is accompanied by Jowar Bhakri and various chutneys and pickles. Thecha,a traditional Maharashtrian accompaniment is a must-have and is a favourite of many patrons. Hotel Durga,Budhwar PethThis 53-year-old restaurant,one of the oldest in the city is the most famous for its deluxe mutton thali. It includes mutton masala,kheema,mutton biryani,mutton gravy and roti. S M Gaikwad,manager says,Hotel Durga also offers chicken thali with chicken gravy,chicken plate and chicken biryani. Solkadi and papad are also added to the thali. Price- Deluxe mutton thali- Rs 190. Hotel Konkan ExpressKothrudKonkan Express takes the thali fare to a new level. They offer over six varieties of thalis including chicken,mutton and seafood. Konkan Express promises to offer you a real taste of the coastal Maharashtra. The deluxe thali here includes mutton curry,sukhachicken and a fish fry of your choice. Their specialty dish is the sumptuous crab thali that includes crab curry,dry crab and roti,rice,salads.
