Art meets theatre in a two-day festival organised by Natya-Toli.

Art meets theatre in a two-day festival organised by Natya-Toli (The People’s Theatre). Called SU-KRITI-2010,it is planned as a platform for budding talents who will stage plays, display photographs and paintings, and showcase articles created from waste.

Theatre director and actor Praveen Jaggi of Sandli Pairan Kala Kendra takes a break from rehearsals to inform that the festival would help develop collaborations between local talents. “We want people to connect through the medium of art and exchange thoughts and ideas,” adds Mashall,a poet and stage actor, who is also part of the festival. Natya-Toli is an arts organisation formed by enthusiasts who gave up their careers to pursue theatre.

Jaggi says that 95 percent of the actors who will be participating in the festival will be on stage for the first time. Among the stories that are being dramatised are Charhi, which revolves around the trail of power and how it influences people,Ghar, about building a house, and Va-Varolle,on how a decision-making moment can also be daunting.
