The Karnataka High Court’s verdict quashing an illegal mining case against former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was challenged in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Srijan Basha,on whose complaint the Karnataka Lokayukta had registered an FIR against Yeddyurappa, challenged the verdict on the grounds that he was not made a party to Yeddyurapa’s petition to the High Court against the Lokayukta’s decision and that the court passed its judgment on March 7 without hearing him.

He argued that quashing the Governor’s sanction to prosecute Yeddyurapa was “bad in law and impermissible in law and against a catena of judgment and position of law settled by the apex court”.
