Floods in AP By: s ramji | 03-Oct-2009 Reply | Forward How suddenly situation has changed from defecit in rains to all round flooding. A lot of water is being let into the sea at vijayawada. i dont know whether the surplus water can be diverted to chennai using the Telugu Ganga Canal - Chennai lakes can take a lot of this water. Will it be feasible to divert the water and use the water for quenching the thirst of Chennai instead of letting the water into the sea.
YSR Was Working On It!By: AP Dude | 03-Oct-2009 Reply | Forward Each year, we release 6 years worth of water into the sea. Krishna hits Srisailam, then Nagarjuna Sagar and finally Prakasam Barrage at Vijayawada. As you said, once it escapes in Vijayawada, the water goes straight to sea. YSR started a grand plan called "Jalayagnam". Most of it should be implemented by end of this 5-year term. We call him "Apara Bhagiratha".
