Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday attacked Narendra Modi with a remark that former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had reportedly made on raj dharma. Without naming either leader,Singh said a BJP chief minister had faced so many allegations that a former prime minister had once told him to follow raj dharma. Singhs remarks came following an attack by Modi on the Rajasthan government for alleged violation of the human rights of minorities. About a month ago, there was a BJP rally in Jodhpur where a chief minister levelled false allegations against the Rajasthan government on violations of human rights and minorities rights, Singh said at a rally in Jaipur. Before making such allegations he should look at his own record, he added. I do not think there has ever been a time when his own government has not been facing such allegations. So much so that once a former prime minister and a tall leader had even told him to follow raj dharma on these issues. Singh, who began by saying the UPA would not stoop as low as the BJP in using derogatory words and engaging in negative politics, alleged the BJP leadership had been manipulating facts. He sought another opportunity for the Congress government in Rajasthan while recounting the populist schemes introduced in the state. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said,The BJP has been alleging that we have done all the work in the last six months. Is that even possible? He went on to recount various schemes undertaken by his government. Have all these come up in only six months? Their bluff is called. he said.
