On security arrangements, he said he was shocked to see unprecedented security cover and tendered an apology to the devotees who faced difficulties due to VVIP movement. “I do not know why the security was kept so tight. Our staff members who were issued security passes by the district police also faced troubles to reach the Golden Temple,” said Makkar.
Makkar said, “We told the PM about our letter to the Centre for ensuring security of 300 Sikh and Hindu families taking shelter in various gurdwaras in Pakistan after Taliban took control over the Swat valley.”
