  • The Jagraon city police have booked two constables currently stationed at the CIA staff for allegedly selling narcotics. The constables — Gurdip Singh, a resident of village Bhunder Kalan and Manjeet Kumar, from village Ghalib — are on the run. Both accused were working with Kamlapura based truck driver Paramjit Singh Radu in running this racket. The truck driver used to smuggle narcotics which was further sold to people through these constables.

DSP Bhupinder Singh said, “We received secret information about the constables involved in this illegal activity. Acting on this information, we raided their but they gave the slip to the police.” Answering whether police had recovered some narcotics from their homes, the DSP said, “We have not been able to recover any booty. But we are looking for the accused.”
