Police build case on forensic evidence

Bandra Police will rely on forensic evidence in the Spanish woman rape case of November 6, 2012.

They filed a 210-page chargesheet Thursday evening in Bandra Magistrate Court that lists recoveries made from her Perry Cross Road flat and includes statements of 33 witnesses, mostly residents of the building and the watchmen who rescued the 27-year-old.

An identification parade at Arthur Jail is also a major part of chargesheet. "Forensic evidences are key points of the chargesheet," said an officer from Bandra station, adding that there were no witnesses.

Police claimed accused Mohammed Anwar Ansari alias Badshah entered the flat of the Spanish woman, raped her twice and later ordered her to take a bath. He spent 45 minutes in the flat and smoked her two cigarettes.
