Police have claimed to solve the murder case of Aman Kapoor who, as per his family, had gone missing on September 23. Two youths have been arrested.
Investigations have revealed that Aman was killed by his cousin Raman Kapoor and his friend Sher Singh who later dumped his body into a canal near Alamgir. The police have deputed divers to recover the body.
"Satpal Kapoor, the father of the deceased, had come to us and registered a missing complaint of his son. Satpal claimed that his son had gone out with his friends and not returned. A day later, Satpal told us that he had received a ransom call. When we began searching the numbers, we stumbled on Raman. We questioned him and he has confessed to his crime," said SHO Jasvinder Singh.
Raman, as per the police, has told them that Aman had made an MMS of Raman and his girlfriend when the two were in a compromising position. While Raman was successful in getting the MMS deleted, Aman began blackmailing him and pressuring him to arrange a girlfriend for him too. Irked, Raman along with his friend Sher Singh stuck a plan. They first told Aman that they knew a tantrik who could arrange a girlfriend for him and then took him to this canal to immerse something into the water as told by the tantrik. When Aman went down to do the tantrik's bidding, Raman and Sher Singh stabbed him with sharp-edged knives and later threw his body into the canal.
After killing Aman, Raman returned home and even accompanied his uncle to the police station. Raman and Sher Singh have been arrested.
