After the meeting between senior UP government officials and industry representatives last week, the Gautam Buddha Nagar police have formed two quick reaction teams (QRTs) in the district. The teams will take care of security-related issues of industrial enterprises.
The teams are being constituted by the district police to tackle any untoward situation. The Superintendent of Police R K Chaturvedi said that besides QRTs, an industrial relations unit has also been constituted and has started functioning to redress security concerns of industrial units. “The teams will begin preparing a data bank of email ids, telephone and mobile numbers of managers and senior officials of national and multinational firms. This will ease the task of contacting managers,” Chaturvedi said.
In Ghaziabad, similar measures have already been adopted to handle the security situation. “We already have three QRTs and are equipped to take care of industrial security issues here,” said L Ravi Kumar, SSP, Ghaziabad.
Meanwhile, Graziano Transmissioni India Pvt Ltd has changed the private firm that was earlier providing security to its plant. “We have employed Group 4 Security Services to handle our plant’s security at Greater Noida,” said the company’s personnel manager, L K Gupta. He also informed that in the absence of a CEO, the company is at present working just one shift of eight hours. Earlier, it used to operate 24 hours, Gupta said.
