Rajasthan Police on Monday evening released sketches of two persons, whom they suspect to be linked to the Ajmer Sharif bomb blast on October 11, which three persons and injured 20 others. These sketches have been made as per the details given to the police by the eyewitnesses.
According to the police, these sketches are of persons whose presence looked suspicious to the eyewitnesses present at the dargah of sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti at the time of the blast. The police have ensured that the identity of the persons, who gave any information about the suspect, will not be revealed.
Additional Director General of Police (Crime) A K Jain informed The Indian Express that these sketches are only of suspects. “They are not the accused but their presence seemed suspicious. We have absolutely no details about them except that one of them was carrying a blue bag and was seen near the blast site just before the bomb went off,” he said.
More than ten days after the blast at the dargah, the Rajasthan Police is yet to make any headway in the investigations. While teams of Rajasthan Police have been sent in all directions — from Madhya Pradesh to Hyderabad and reportedly also to Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat — the police officials maintain that “they are working on definite leads.” When asked about the raids and visits being made to other states, Jain said, “We are not conducting any raids nor have we asked anybody else to do so on our behalf. Investigations are being carried out at different levels but neither have we detained anyone nor any arrests have been made.”
