  • The Chandigarh Police has asked the Director Health Services to provide them six pharmacists and a supervisor for trauma vans in order to provide immediate care to accident victims.

Officials said the pharmacists could assist the police in providing first aid to the victims immediately after an accident. The UT Red Cross department has assured 50 first aid boxes to the Chandigarh Police, which will be kept in PCR vans.

Meanwhile, 50 policemen, including two inspectors and four sub-inspectors of the police control room, on Thursday attended a three-day refresher training course at Children Traffic Park in Sector 23.

Dr Rupak K Dass, Senior Consultant Surgeon and Urologist at Fortis Hospital, conducted the session. He emphasised on safety of the rescuer, the basics of saving a life and transferring a victim by minimising pain.
