Polish national found dead in Varanasi guest house

A 29-year-old Polish national,identified as Alex Rust,was found dead in a guest house room in Bhelupur area of Varanasi on Tuesday morning.

Police broke open the door of the room after the guest house staff informed that Alex was not responding to knocks. Additional SP Rahul Raj said there were no external injury marks on the body and the cause of death could be ascertained only after receiving the autopsy report.

We found a glass filled with alcohol near the body. A bottle of alcohol was also found, said Vipin Kumar,inspector of the Bhelupur police station.

The police have informed the Poland Embassy in New Delhi and other authorities. According to the documents found in the room,Alex entered India through Mumbai on Apirl 23,they said.

Two days ago,Alex came to Silver Paying Guest House and hired a room. The guest house staff said that after entering the room,he locked it from inside and did not come out.
